Scavenger Hunt – Energy Flow in Ecosystems – Location 1

Complete the Story:

First, read the story.
It started off as a beautiful day in the Cretaceous Period, 65 million years ago. Similar to a solar eclipse, the sky began to darken in the middle of the day and then quickly filled with what looked like a giant rock! All of a sudden, a 10 km (6.2 mi) wide asteroid smashed into the ground at 20 kilometers per second (44,640 mi per hour) which is about 20 times faster than a rifle bullet. The impact was greater than a billion atomic bombs and sent up so much dirt and dust, that it blocked the Sun for many years.

You must now finish the story in 2-3 sentences. Your story must make sense and correctly link how blocking the Sun for a long period of time would result in most of the dinosaurs dying out.
